Lost in Austin

Sometimes I find it mind blowing how much the great state of Texas has to offer. There are beaches for a tropical vacation, the hill country for a relaxing getaway, and miles of great plains. Living on the coast, I get nothing but the water. Not that I'm complaining. Every once in a while, a change of scenery is much needed.

Oh how the hill country will make you forget all of your worries. Though I didn't do much exploring in Austin because of the jam packed itinerary, what I was able to experience was breathtaking. The Oasis on Lake Travis is absolutely beautiful. It is a hidden gem, tucked away on the outskirts of Austin, Texas. Not only is the food fantastic, but the view will definitely make you want to come back. The restaurant is considered the "sunset capital of Texas" and the photos on their web page will explain why. If you happen to be in the area, The Oasis is a must.

Our adventures continued to Wimberley, Texas, a quaint town located between Austin and San Marcos. It was more of a pit stop to get some frozen yogurt at The Wooden Spoon and do a little window shopping. There wasn't much time to spend exploring, as we needed to make our way to San Antonio. Next time, I do want to check out Jacob's Well and see what else Wimberley has to offer.

We wrapped up our trip with a stop in good ol' San Antone. San Antonio is known for the River Walk and all of the downtown commotion, but this trip wasn't about that. I really enjoy doing things that I typically wouldn't, when visiting different places. My boyfriend is an alumnus of St. Mary's University, so he gave me a private campus tour. It was really special to somewhat relive his college days with him. Afterwards, we stopped for some mouthwatering sushi at Fujiya and a little snack from Taqueria Datapoint. The mini tacos are to die for! I can honestly say they were the best I've ever had. I have a feeling that we will be popping into San Antonio quite often. More adventures, more food!
