Here's the much anticipated wish list...for me!
Christmas shopping in my family can be very difficult. We are blessed to be able to buy the things we enjoy, for ourselves. With that being said, it makes Christmas shopping much more difficult-because everyone already has what they want!

My family usually sends out a Christmas list each year, just so that everyone can get some ideas on what to buy on another. As time passes, I've realized that my list gets shorter and shorter each year. I take it as a sign of being beyond blessed. I'm lucky that I'm able to treat myself every once in awhile, plus I've gotten to realize that Christmas isn't all about the gifts.

My list ranges from the girly beauty products to work out shoes. Not only is this a list to give others an idea of what I want for Christmas, it also allows others to get ideas from my list. It's the holiday season, y'all!

As promised from the first gift guide, I have compiled a few tips that can help with all of the holiday spending. The cost of gifts can really add up as your buying for friends and family. Make sure you're taking advantage of the deals that stores provide, and catching those sales! Here are some other tips to help you make sure you're getting the most bang for your buck.

The holidays are quickly approaching! Are you prepared? I usually start my holiday shopping in early October. Not only do I get to beat the crowds, I also have more time to spread the costs of the gift buying. Guess you could call me a savvy spender! I will be featuring different saving techniques in a future blog post. Keep your eyes out for that!

Back to my gift guide. I find that the most difficult people to shop for are the men in my family. I compiled a list of a gift ideas if you find yourself struggling too! This list ranges from the men who enjoy the latest trends to the fitness/sports junkie.

New Chapter

I've always thought of myself as being someone people can aspire to be. I've always had a good head on my shoulders, and I thought I was doing pretty well in life. I graduated college, moved out of my mom's house, and I work full-time at the local university. I thought I was doing everything right. Then this quote hits me. "Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." Now how true is that?! I thought of myself as sooooo priveledged, that opportunities would fall from the sky and land in my lap. WRONG. I've quickly learned that you have to work extremely hard to get what you think you deserve. This is the mark of a new journey.

In one week, I will officially be leaving my current job. I've been with this university for two years, post graduation. Everything I have known has been this city and this enviroment. I've always wanted bigger and better, and now I'm finally doing it.

This transition has been extremely stressful! I forgot how much work goes into the process of applying for jobs. All of the resumes, letters, interviews, and phone calls really wear a girl out! Add that to the stress of packing up an entire house in just a few weeks. Some days, it'll drive you absolutely mad! You just have to keep in mind the end goal, and make sure its worth it!

So in seven whole days, I will be making a big move to a totally new city. I can't wait to explore and find neat places within the city. I'll be sure to post with all of the new adventures. This will be a really big step in my life! Hope all goes well.

Lost in Austin

Sometimes I find it mind blowing how much the great state of Texas has to offer. There are beaches for a tropical vacation, the hill country for a relaxing getaway, and miles of great plains. Living on the coast, I get nothing but the water. Not that I'm complaining. Every once in a while, a change of scenery is much needed.
